About Aria Silk

Founded in 2020 in Stockholm , Aria Silk’s scarves are designed and made uniquely with you in mind. Discover prints that reflect your individual personality, your dreams and moods. We hope to inspire you in new and creative ways and call you to new adventures. A silk scarf is a timeless accessory.

Our collection emerges out of the Scandinavian nature from where it is also created, blended with a longing for the captivating and colorful places of other cultures. Our artists get their inspiration from the surrounding Swedish nature; the endless forests, the ancient rocks, the texture of the moss covering them and the sunshine reflected in the infinite lakes, all captured in the varying colors and hues of the changing seasons. We believe in sustainability which is why our scarves are crafted from natural and durable silk fabrics, ensuring lasting quality so that your scarf will serve you for many years to come.

Our sustainability commitment

Research is telling us that whilst no manufacturing process is without impact on the environment, Digital Textile Printing is certainly one of the friendlier in todays textile industry.

Digital textile printing is growing in popularity for designers choosing a more environmentally aware process compared to many of the other traditional printing and dyeing methods . It’s reputation as the eco-friendlier of the printing processes is predominantly measured through the reduced amount of waste inevitably produced.

Here at Aria Silk we are mindful of the waste that is easily created in our manufacturing process and therefore take steps to reduce it to a minimum. We don’t stop at just monitoring our water and coating consumption. We ensure that we are fully compliant with the UKs waste framework directive by paying for specialists to dispose of our waste by-products.

Here are some points to consider when choosing the Aria Silk products:

Digital printing – Creates less waste

  • There are no screens or plates to produce (as for screen print or rotary printing) and so needs less setup equipment.

  • Printing direct to fabric means less wasted surplus ink (unlike dyeing) through precise applicaton of the artwork.

  • The inks we do use are certificated as Azo dye free.

  • Using the best quality inks through the print heads stops clogging and waste.

  • Many of our fabrics also have a OEKO-TEX certification or are to European REACH standards.

  • There is less use of chemicals and water than traditional methods. Use of water is unavoidable however, by investing in high tech equipment we have reduced our water consumption to the minimum required to achieve production. The disposal of waste water is treated through approved channels and vetted by the local authority as effluent friendly.

  • The machinery is designed to last. We are diligent with our maintenance programs and our staff are highly trained in their operation. Taking care of the machinery prolongs its lifespan.
